VRFocus- It's been known for a while now that Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) will be heading to the 2015 Game Developers Conference (GDC) with its Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) in tow. The company confirmed as much in January when it listed a talk that will provide 'an update' on the kit on GDC's Session Scheduler. The company isn't restricting its VR sharing to one single talk, however. A new session, recently revealed on the schedule, is set to address videogame artists working in VR.

Microsoft just released news details concerning their presence at the Game Developers Conference next month. The event takes place at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco and Microsofts gaming division will be there to share more news about whats next for Xbox One and Windows 10. Phil Spencer will also host a presentation about creating games on Xbox One and how Windows 10 and DirectX 12 will enhance development. This will take place on March 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM local time. While the event may not be broadcast live, it will be available on Xbox Live, Channel 9, Xbox Wire, and other sources later that day.

VRFocus- Virtual reality (VR) enthusiasts may recall last years Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany as being fairly uneventful for the technology. One of the bigger reveals of the show, however, was that Crysis and Ryse: Son of Rome developer Crytek had its own VR showcase to exhibit with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Running on the companys own CryEngine 3, the demo allowed players to walk through a wooded environment. Crytek has kept quiet on its work in VR since that time, but will be revisiting the technology at the upcoming 2015 Game Developers Conference (GDC).

Nvidia Enjoys Record Sales Amid Thriving PC Games Business

Chipmaker Nvidia has reported what it deems as "record" sales for the three months sales period between November and January, due to a spike in demand for its new Maxwell graphics cards.

The corporation's revenue for the quarter was put at $1.25 billion, up by 9 percent from the same period last year, due in part by the availability of second-generation GeForce GPUs such as the GTX 980.

Nvidia says money from its GeForce GPUs climbed by 38 percent, pushing profits up by a third to reach $193 million. For the full year, total revenue climbed to $4.7 billion and net profits hit $630 million.

However, sales results of the company's micro-console, the Nvidia Shield, were not disclosed.

"Momentum is accelerating in each of our market-specialized platforms, driving record revenue in the quarter and full year," said the company's chief executive Jen-Hsun Huang.

Looking ahead, Nvidia will hold a presentation at the Game Developers Conference in March where the company is expected to reveal something that will "."
